Transformers: Fall of Cybertron ไม่ใช่ภาพยนตร์ภาคใหม่ของซีรี่ย์ Transformers แต่เป็นเกมส์ที่ทาง High Moon สร้างขึ้นมาจากเรื่องราวใน Transformers ฉบับการ์ตูน เกี่ยวกับสงครามระหว่าง Autobots และ Decepticon บนดาวบ้านเกิดของทั้งสองฝ่าย ซึ่งภาคนี้ก็ไม่ใช่ภาคแรกด้วย แต่เป็นภาคต่อ เพราะในปี 2010 ทางสตูดิโอ High Moon ได้ทำภาคแรกที่ชื่อว่า Transformers: War For Cybertron ออกมาก่อนแล้ว สงครามระหว่างสองฝ่ายบน Cybertron ดาวบ้านเกิดของทั้ง Autobots และ Decepticon ยังคงไม่จบลงในภาคแรก และขยายผลมายังภาคที่สองนี้ แถมการต่อสู้ก็ยิ่งทวีความรุนแรงมากขึ้น และรู้ผลแพ้ชนะกันในภาคนี้นั่นเอง สำหรับคนที่ได้ชมภาพยนตร์มาแล้วก็คงทราบว่า ทั้งฝ่าย Autobots และ Decepticon ได้ต่อสู้แตกหักกัน จนกระทั่งดาว Cybertron ล่มสลาย และต้องหาดาวที่จะอยู่อาศัยใหม่ จนได้มาพบกับโลกมนุษย์นั่นเอง ซึ่งในเกมส์ภาคนี้จะกล่าวถึงสงครามครั้งสุดท้ายของทั้งสองฝ่ายบนดาว Cybertron โดยทางฝ่าย Autobots ก็จะนำโดยเหล่า Optimus Prime ส่วนฝ่าย Decepticon ก็จะมีหุ่นที่แปลงร่างได้หลายแบบ
