Call Of Duty Ghosts : เกมส์ Call of Duty: Ghosts ได้พัฒนาเอนจิ้นเกมส์ใหม่ทั้งหมดเพื่อสนับสนุนให้กับเครื่องเกมส์ Xbox One พร้อยยกระดับของเกมส์ Call of Duty ด้วย ขณะที่เนื้อเรื่องเกมส์จะนำเสนอเนื้อหาตอนใหม่ โดยนำเหล่าทีมงานชื่อดังและได้รางวัลมาช่วยเหลือเขียนบทและเล่าเรื่องเกมส์ ให้ตื่นเต้นมากขึ้น, ด้านเบื้องหลังการพัฒนาเกมส์ ก็ยกระดับการพัฒนาเพื่อตั้งเป้าหมายเรื่องความสมจริงทั้งหมด ตั้งแต่จัดทำ Motion Capture ในการประมวลการเคลื่อนไหวตัวละครเกมส์สมจริง, บรรยากาศฉากเกมส์ทุกองค์ประกอบก็จัดทำความสมจริง, รายละเอียด Texture ที่คมชัด, รายละเอียดตัวละครที่เก็บรายละเอียดตั้งแต่ขนบนแขนจนถึงฝุ่นตามร่างกายตัว ละคร และปรับเฟรมเรตให้คงที่ๆ 60 เฟรมต่อวินาที นอกจากนั้น ระบบมัลติเพลเยอร์ก็ถูกยกระดับการเล่นเกมส์ที่ตื่นเต้นขึ้นมากกว่าเดิม โดยมีระบบ dynamic maps ที่จะมีสิ่งของหรือวัตถุในฉากจะล้มลงมาหรือพังทลายต่อหน้าของผู้เล่นที่อาจ ส่งผลต่อชีวิตได้, เพิ่มระบบการปรับแต่งตัวละครเกมส์ให้มีความพิเศษและเป็นตัวตนของผู้เล่นมาก ขึ้น
