Mugen Souls เกมเพลย์เหมือนๆกับ JRPG แบบดั้งเดิมทั่วไป มุดเข้าดันเจี้ยน สำรวจ สู้แบบเทิร์นเบส (เหมือนๆกับ Hyperdimension Neptunia mk2) รวมถึงมินิเกมและระบบปรับแต่งไอเท็มต่างๆ เนื้อเรื่องหลักๆ ไปต่อสู้และรวบรวมผู้กล้าเพื่อเป็นใหญ่ในจักรวาล ตัวเอกของเกมนี้คือสาวน้อยวัยกระเตาะที่มีนามว่า Chou-Chou ได้คิดการใหญ่ หวังครอบครองจักรวาลด้วยการไปท้าต่อยตีกับผู้นำของแต่ละโลก จากนั้นก็จับผู้แพ้มาเลี้ยงดูในฐานะบริวาร โดยมีคู่หูคู่ใจชื่อ Altis ติดสอยห้อยตามคุณเธอไปก่อวีรกรรมทั่วจักรวาลด้วย
