Far Cry Primal เป็นภาคพิเศษของเกมซีรี่ส์ Far Cry ที่เป็นเกมยิงแบบเน้นฉากที่กว้างใหญ่สไตล์ Open World แต่ภาคนี้มาในรูปแบบใหม่ที่ไม่เหมือนภาคก่อนๆ เพราะบอกลาอาวุธไฮเทคอย่างปืน แล้วย้อนกลับไปยุคอาวุธดึกดำบรรพ์รุ่นแรกอย่างอาวุธหินของยุคหิน กำหนดทำลงแพลตฟอร์ม PS4 และ Xbox one ในวันที่ 23 กุมภาพันธ์ 2016 ส่วนของ PC ภายในเดือนมีนาคม 2016 แม้จะเป็นภาคย้อนยุคแต่ ก็ตั้งใจทำให้ออกมายิ่งใหญ่ ด้วยการรวมทีมถึง 4 ทีมมาสร้างเกมนี้เกมเดียวคือ Ubisoft Montréal, Ubisoft Toronto, Ubisoft Shanghai Studio และ Ubisoft Kiev Studio เพื่อสร้างสรรค์โลกยุค 10,000 ปีก่อนคริสตกาล ยุคที่มนุษย์แสวงหาหนทางอยู่จุดสูงสุดแห่งห่วงโซ่อาหาร ด้วยการพัฒนาอาวุธและเครื่องมือเครื่องใช้จากไม้และหิน นำไปใช้ล่าสัตว์ร้ายในอดีต แต่มันไม่ใช่ง่ายๆเลย
