ผู้เล่นจะได้สวมบทเป็นกลุ่ม "เทคโนแมนเซอร์" ที่กำลังตกอยู่ท่ามกลางวิกฤตความขัดแย้งระหว่างสองบริษัทยักษ์ใหญ่
Aurora และ Abundance ที่ต่างทำสงครามเพื่อแย่งชิง "น้ำ" ซึ่งถือเป็นทรัพยากรอันเลอค่าบนดาวอังคาร โดยจาก
ภาพสกรีนช็อตได้มีการโชว์บรรยากาศของเมือง "น็อคติส" (หนึ่งในฐานที่มั่นแห่งสุดท้ายของอาณานิคมมนุษย์ที่ผู้เล่น
จะได้สำรวจพบเจอในเกม) แม้ว่าน็อคติสจะเป็นเมืองเสรีที่ไกลห่างจากไฟสงคราม แต่มันก็แอบแฝงอันตรายจากพวก
แก๊งค์หัวขโมย, โจรปล้นสะดม และเหล่าสัตว์ดุร้าย ตัวเกมจะบรรจุ 4 สายสกิลทรีให้ผู้เล่นได้เลือกอัพเกรดตัวละคร
ซึ่งในแต่ละสายจะมีสไตล์การต่อสู้และการใช้พลังสายฟ้าที่แตกต่างกันออกไป โดยทางทีมผู้พัฒนา สัญญาว่าภาย
ในเกมจะมีระบบสร้างไอเทม (Crafting) และผู้ติดตาม (Companion) พร้อมกับใส่ตัวเลือกบทสนทนาแบบไดนามิค
ที่ส่งผลกระทบโดยตรงต่อเควสต์ และการดำเนินเรื่องที่จะแปรเปลี่ยนไปตามการตัดสินใจของผู้เล่น โดยเฉพาะฉากจบ
ของเกมที่มีมากถึง 5 แบบ
