เกม Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 เป็นเรื่องราว 2 ปี ต่อมาจากภาคแรก มีตัวละครหลักตัวใหม่เป็นผู้ดำเนินเนื้อเรื่อง เกมภาคนี้จะดำเนินเนื้อเรื่องรูปแบบเดียวกับภาคแรก คือเสนอเรื่องราวของโลกคู่ขนานที่เหตุการณ์เปลี่ยนแป ลงไปจากเนื้อเรื่องหลัก ควบคู่ไปกับการเดินทางข้ามการเวลา คราวนี้มีสิ่งที่ผิดแปลกเกิดขึ้นคือการปรากฏตัวของ Cooler และ Turles บนดาวนาเม็ก พร้อมกับร่างใหม่ของ Broly และ Janemba ที่ทรงพลังมากกว่าเดิม
ภาคนี้ได้คุณ DJ Steve Aoki ผู้ได้รับรางวัล Grammy ปี 2013 สาขา Best Dance/Electronica Album มาทำการ Remix เพลงหลักประจำซีรี่ส์ Dragon Ball อย่าง Cha-la Head Cha-la และ We Gotta Power ด้วย และตัวเขาเองก็จะปรากฏเป็นตัวละคร NPC ภายในเกมเช่นกัน
