Memtest86 Pro Edition คือ โปรแกรมตรวจสอบปัญหาแรม โปรแกรมตรวจสอบแรมตัวนี้จะช่วยเราตรวจภาพการทำงานของแรมอย่างละเอียดยิบ หรือจะเป็นการตรวจสอบปัญา หาข้อผิดพลาด (Error) ที่มีอยู่ในแรม เพื่อเช็คดูว่าแรมของเครื่องเรานั้นเสียหรือไม่ นอกจากนี้โปรแกรมตัวนี้ยังสามารถตรวจสอบขนาดของหน่วยความจำต่างๆ ได้อีกด้วย หรือจะเป็นขนาดแคชไม่ว่าจะเป็นแบบ L1 L2 หรือแม้แต่แบบ L3 ก็สามารถตรวจสอบได้เช่นเดียวกัน และยังสามารถตรวจสอบการอ่านค่าเข้า/ออกจากหน่วยความจำต่างๆ ว่าทำงานปกติอยู่ไหม หรือมีข้อผิดพลาดอะไรบ้างไหม เป็นต้น โปรแกรมนี้ในเวอร์ชั่น 6 หรือสูงกว่า ได้มีการเพิ่มการรองรับแรมประเภท DDR4 เป็นที่เรียบร้อยแล้วด้วย
Therefore, an ideal strategy for testing memory would be the following:
Write a cell with a zero.
Write all of the adjacent cells with a one, one or more times.
Check that the first cell still has a zero.
It should be obvious that this strategy requires an exact knowledge of how the memory cells are laid out on the chip. In addition there are a never ending number of possible chip layouts for different chip types and manufacturers making this strategy impractical. However, there are testing algorithms that can approximate this ideal and MemTest86does just this.
