เป็นเกมส์ที่ทาง High Moon สร้างขึ้นมาจากเรื่องราวใน Transformers ฉบับการ์ตูน เกี่ยวกับสงครามระหว่าง Autobots และ Decepticon บนดาวบ้านเกิดของทั้งสองฝ่าย ซึ่งภาคนี้ก็ไม่ใช่ภาคแรกด้วย แต่เป็นภาคต่อ เพราะในปี 2010 ทางสตูดิโอ High Moon ได้ทำภาคแรกที่ชื่อว่า Transformers: War For Cybertron ออกมาก่อนแล้ว สงครามระหว่างสองฝ่ายบน Cybertron ดาวบ้านเกิดของทั้ง Autobots และ Decepticon ยังคงไม่จบลงในภาคแรก และขยายผลมายังภาคที่สองนี้ แถมการต่อสู้ก็ยิ่งทวีความรุนแรงมากขึ้น
