Dishonored เป็นเกมแนว action-adventure ในมุมมอง first-person ที่เน้นการซุ่ม (stealth) และการใช้อุปกรณ์และสิ่งแวดล้อมให้เป็นประโยชน์ในการสังหารศัตรู โดยผู้เล่นจะรับบทเป็น Corvo ซึ่งเป็นบอดี้การ์ดให้กับราชินีแต่กลับถูกใส่ร้ายว่าเป็นผู้สังหารราชินี จึงได้กลายเป็นนักฆ่าที่เต็มไปด้วยความแค้น ตัวละครยังสามารถเรียนรู้ความสามารถพิเศษได้ด้วยการเก็บ Rune และสามารถอัพเกรดอุปกรณ์ของตัวเองได้เช่นเดียวกัน ในแต่ละภารกิจจะมีหลายทางในการเข้าหาเป้าหมาย ให้คุณได้พบกับขั้นสุดของ Dishonored ด้วย Game of the Year Edition ซึ่งจะรวบรวม Dishonored ที่ได้รับรางวัลกว่า 100 รางวัล และภาคเสริมทั้งหมดซึ่งได้แก่ Dunwall City Trials, The Knife of Dunwall, The Brigmore Witches และ Void Walkers Arsenal
