World War Z เป็นผลงานเกมที่อำนวยการสร้างโดยค่ายหนังยักษ์ใหญ่อย่าง Paramount Pictures ร่วมกับทีมพัฒนาเกม Saber Interactive ที่นำเสนอเกมยิงซอมบี้ในรูปแบบ co-op campaign (แน่นอนว่าการเล่นเกมนี้ ควรต่อเนตเล่น) โดยเนื้อหาของเกมจะเป็นการเล่าเรื่องต่อจากหนังโรงชื่อดังกล่าว หรือมีฉากที่บรรยายเรื่องราวในช่วงไทม์ไลน์เดียวกับตัวหนังด้วย
จุดขายของเกมนี้ ชัดเจนมากๆคือ ผู้เล่น 4 คนปะทะฝูงซอมบี้ (ฟังดูคุ้นๆมั้ย) แต่ซอมบี้ในเกมนี้มีความสามารถแบบเดียวกันกับในหนังทุกประการ ตั้งแต่วิ่งผลัด 4 x 100 วิ่งกระโดด ต่อตัว และพวกมันไม่ได้มาแค่ 10-20 ตัว แต่พวกมันจะมากันนับพันๆตัว (งานนี้ PC ใคร CPU ไม่แรง แนะนำให้เปลี่ยนด่วนๆ)
โดยการรับมือกับฝูงซอมบี้ในเกม นอกจากเหล่าศาตราวุธสุดเบสิคอย่างปืนกลหลากหลายชนิดแล้ว ยังมีเรื่องของการวางกับดัก ป้อมปืนกล ลวดหนาม แนวป้องกันสารพัด รวมไปถึงการวางแผน ติดต่อสื่อสารกันระหว่างคนในทีมที่ดีอีกด้วย
