Soulcalibur VI เป็นเกมต่อสู้ผสมความเป็นเกม RPG โดยชูจุดเด่นที่เกมต่อสู้อื่นๆ ไม่มีคือ เพื่อนๆ สามารถสร้างตัวละครขึ้นมาได้แล้วเลือกอาวุธที่อยากให้ตัวละครของเราใช้ได้อย่างอิสระ นอกจากนี้ตัวละครที่เราสร้างขึ้นมายังสามารถเก็บเลเวลอัพเกรดความสามารถทั้งอาวุธและชุดเกราะได้ด้วย รวมไปถึงยังมีระบบใหม่ที่เพิ่มเข้ามาในภาคนี้ "Reversal Edge" ซึ่งทำให้เราสามารถสวนกลับใส่คู่ต่อสู้ด้วยพลังโจมตีที่รุนแรงขึ้นเป็นเท่าตัว
