Assetto Corsa Competizione เกมรถแข่งภาคใหม่ ได้มีการพัฒนาในเรื่องของกราฟิกและระบบการเล่นให้ทัดเทียมกับเกมรุ่นพี่อย่าง GT Sport และ Project CARS เพื่อให้ตัวเกมสามารถแสดงผลของแสงสีและสภาพแวดล้อมต่างๆได้เหมือนของจริงมากที่สุด โดยการใช้งาน Unreal Engine 4 ในการพัฒนาเกมแถมยังจำลองระบบสภาพอากาศเหมือนกับของจริงทุกประการเพื่อให้ผู้เล่นได้เข้าถึงจิตวิญญาณของการแข่งรถเหมือนกับได้นั่งอยู่หลังพวงมาลัยรถจริงๆอีกด้วย
นอกจากนั้นแล้วระบบ VR ภายในเกมนี้ยังมีการพัฒนาขึ้นมาใหม่เพื่อรองรับการเล่นของภาคนี้อย่างเต็มรูปแบบ และจะมีการผลักดันให้เกิดการแข่งขันแบบ E-Sports อีกด้วย รวมไปถึงจำนวนรถแข่งที่จะมีให้เลือกนั้นก็ได้มีการขอลิขสิทธิ์จากค่ายดังๆมาครบไม่ว่าจะเป็น Ferrari, Lamboghini และ McLarens เป็นต้น เพื่อให้ผู้เล่นทั้งหน้าเก่าและหน้าใหม่ได้สัมผัสความแรงของรถระดับ Top Class ของโลกง่ายๆผ่านเกมในรูปแบบธรรมดาและเสมือนจริง
