Total Tank Simulator เป็นเกมสงครามเชิงฟิสิกส์ที่จะมาพร้อมแผนที่กว่า 50 แบบและหน่วยรบอีกร่วมร้อยประเภท โดยผู้เล่นจะได้รับบทเป็นผู้บังคับบัญชาที่จะสั่งการให้กองทัพในหน่วยต่างๆ ไม่ว่าจะเป็นพลรถถัง เครื่องบินรถ ปืนใหญ่ หรือแม้กระทั่งทหารตัวจิ๋วเข้าไปร่วมรบกันในสงครามโลกครั้งที่สอง
โหมดการเล่นของเกมทั้งสามโหมดจะท้าทายให้ผู้เล่นได้ใช้ความคิดในการพลิกแพลงกลยุทธ์และระเบิดความสร้างสรรค์ออกมาเต็มเปี่ยมทั้งใน Sandbox Mode, Shadow Mode (หรือ Survival) และ Campaign Mode พร้อมกองทัพอีก 6 ฝ่ายที่จะให้เราได้เลือกเข้าร่วม ซึ่งผู้เล่นจะต่อสู้กันบนแผนที่ที่เต็มไปด้วยสภาพแวดล้อมที่หลากหลายไม่ว่าจะเป็นทะเลทรายซาฮารา ทุ่งหญ้าสีเขียวมรกตในประเทศยุโรป หรือทุ่งหิมะในประเทศรัสเซีย ที่สำคัญวัตถุและสิ่งปลูกสร้างก็จะสามารถถูกทำลายได้ตลอดเวลา
