Mortal Shell เกมแอคชั่นสวมบทบาทที่ได้แรงบันดาลใจมาจาก Dark Souls ตัวเกมกล่าวถึงสถานที่หนึ่ง ที่ตั้งอยู่ในดินแดนลึกลับแห่งหนึ่งที่มีลักษณะคล้ายๆ กับดันเจี้ยนที่คุณจะต้องออกเดินทางสำรวจในส่วนต่างๆ ที่แน่นอนว่าระหว่างทางจะต้องพบเจอกับสิ่งมีชีวิตปริศนาที่อยู่ในรูปแบบต่างๆ เพื่อเราจะได้ต่อสู้และไขปริศนาเกี่ยวกับโลกใบนี้ และแน่นอนว่าตัวละครของคุณจะมีทักษะที่หลากหลายขึ้นอยู่กับชุดที่ใส่ที่จะเปลี่ยนแปลงไปเรื่อยๆ ตามที่เราเปลี่ยนอารมณ์เหมือนกับเปลือกภายนอกที่เราใส่อะไรก็จะมีความสามารถประมาณนั้น ประกอบกับธีมที่ออกแนว Dark Fantasy หน่อยบรรยากาศมืดมนชวนจิตตกก็ถือว่านำเสนอได้ดีระดับหนึ่ง
