Necromunda: Underhive Wars ผลงานการดัดแปลงจากภาคแยกของ Warhammer โดยตัวเกมเป็นผลงานจากทางทีมพัฒนา Rogue Factor ผู้สร้างเกม Mordheim: City of the Damned และเป็นผลงานชิ้นที่สองที่ดัดแปลงมาจากเกมกระดานภาคแยกในชื่อเดียวกันของจักรวาล Warhammer 40,000
ซีรีส์ Necromunda เดิมเป็นเกมภาคแยกในจักรวาลของ Warhammer 40,000 ของทาง Games Workshop โดยมันบอกเล่าเรื่องราวการต่อสู้ของกลุ่มชนชั้นแรงงานที่ถูกลืมท่ามกลางเมืองแห่งเศษซากที่เป็นรังขนาดใหญ่ที่อยู่ลึกลงไปภายใต้ผืนพิภพ โดยเวอร์ชันต้นเกมกระดานมินิเอเจอร์ของมันได้ออกวางจำหน่ายเป็นครั้งแรกในปี 1995 และเพิ่งจะมีการนำกลับมารีบูตใหม่ในปี 2017 ในชื่อว่า Necromunda: Underhive
สำหรับ Necromunda: Underhive Wars มันเป็นเกมดัดแปลงที่ทางทีมงาน Rogue Factor ได้มีการพัฒนามาเป็นเวลาหลายปี โดยในช่วงแรกทางทีมงานต้องการให้มันเป็นเกมที่ผสมผสานระหว่างกลไกการเล่นแบบ เรียลไทม์ ที่ผสานเข้ากับการเล่นแบบ เทิร์นเบส ก่อนที่สุดท้ายทางทีมงานจะได้มีการตัดสินใจที่จะมาเน้นหนักไปที่ระบบการเล่นแบบ เทิร์นเบส เป็นหลัก
โดยในส่วนของแคมเปญเล่นเดี่ยวของตัวเกมนั้นมันจะพาผู้เล่นไปทำความรู้จักกับเผ่าต่างๆ ในจักรวาลของ Necromunda ซึ่งจะมีทั้งตระกูลหญิงล้วนอย่าง Escher, ตระกูลจอมพลัง Goliath และเหล่านักขุดอย่างตระกูล Orlock ซึ่งเกมก็จะมีการเพิ่มเผ่าใหม่ๆ ออกมาให้ได้เล่นกันหลังจากที่เกมออกวางจำหน่าย ซึ่งทาง Rogue Factor ยังได้ยืนยันอีกด้วยว่ามันจะมีฉากคัตซีนในการเล่าเรื่องที่ยาวกว่าหนึ่งชั่วโมงเลยทีเดียว
และนอจากแคมเปญเล่นเดียวแล้ว ผู้เล่นบังสามารถสร้างกองกำลังของตัวเองร่วมกับเพื่อนๆ ในการออกทำภารกิจต่อสู้กับ AI หรือผู้เล่นคนอื่นๆ ได้อีกด้วย โดยโหมดมัลติเพลเยอร์ของเกมจะมาพร้อมกับการต่อสู้สี่ผู้เล่นและยังมีโหมด Co-op ให้ได้เล่นกันอีกด้วย
