Call of the Sea เป็นผลงานของทีมพัฒนาหน้าใหม่ที่ชื่อว่า Out of the Blue โดยตัวเกมจะเป็นเกมแนวผจญภัยแก้ปริศนาจากมุมมองบุคคลที่หนึ่งซึ่งเรื่องราวในเกมยังได้รับแรงบันดาลใจมาจากผลงานของ เอช. พี. เลิฟคราฟท์ (H.P. Lovecraft)
ในส่วนของเรื่องราวของเกมที่จะเป็นการพาผู้เล่นไปยังต่างมิตินั้นมันยังเป็นแรงบันดาลใจมาจากผลงานของนักเขียนนิยายชื่อดังอย่าง เอช. พี. เลิฟคราฟท์ อีกด้วย เราไม่เพียงแค่หลงรักในเกมผจญภัยเท่านั้นนะคะ แค่เรายังมีความคลั่งไคล้ลับๆ ของพวกเราเกี่ยวกับเรื่องราวเหนือธรรมชาติและไสยเวทย์อีกด้วย อันที่จริงแล้วเพราะเป็นแฟนตัวยงของ เอช. พี. เลิฟคราฟท์ เลยค่ะและนี่คืองานที่ได้รับแรงบันดาลใจจากผลงานของเขา
แต่ก็ต้องเคลียร์ให้ชัดด้วยเช่นกันค่ะว่า Call of the Sea ไม่ใช่เกมสยองขวัญและมันห่างไกลจากความสยองขวัญมากๆ แต่คุณจะรู้ได้เลยว่าเราได้รับแรงบันดาลใจจากวิธีการเล่าเรื่องของ เลิฟคราฟท์ มา เราต้องการให้คุณแก้ไขปริศนาที่เราสร้างขึ้นมา และคุณก็จะตระหนักได้อย่างช้าๆ ว่ามันมีอะไรที่มากว่าโลกที่ตาเห็น และยังเป็นการรวบเอาเรื่องราวที่ทำให้คุณได้ทราบถึงเหตุการณ์ก่อนหน้าที่คุณจะเดินทางมายังเกาะอีกด้วย
