The software developer TIA Portal is pleased to announce the availability of SIMOTION SCOUT 5.4 SP3 is the user-friendly platform for quickly and efficiently developing software projects for your production plant. From project management and programming to configuration and parameterization as well as testing and commissioning - with SCOUT, you have perfect control over every step.
Functional scope
New functions are available with SIMOTION V5.4 SP3. The most important new functions are:
- SIMOTION in the TIA Portal V17 with SCOUT TIA V5.4 SP3
- Optimizations for SCOUT and SCOUT TIA (e.g. in editors)
- Connection to version management systems
- SIMOTION D with SINAMICS Integrated V5.2 SP3 HF8
- New SIMOTION D445-2 variant (6AU1445-2AD00-0AA1) in the module catalog of SCOUT and SCOUT TIA

Compatibility
Projects which were created with older versions can be upgraded to the new version (e.g. if the existing project is to be extended to include functions of version V5.4 SP3).
The SINAMICS STARTER commissioning tool as well as SIMATIC S7 Technology (STEP 7 option for configuring the CPU 31XT-2 PN/DP), are integrated in SIMOTION SCOUT V5.4 SP3.
Siemens SIMOTION SCOUTis the scalable motion control system that quickly and easily handles increasing machine demands by enabling central machine functions to be implemented with just one controller. It is available in three variants: drive-based, PC-based and controller-based. Simotion Scout facilitates the configuration, programming, testing and commissioning of applications. RAM:8 GB
Screen resolution:1024 x 768
The following is recommended for more comprehensive SIMOTION projects with several modules:PG or PC with
Processor:Intel Core i5-3320M 3.3 GHz or faster
RAM:8 GB or more
Screen:15.6" full HD display (1920 x 1080 or higher)
Memory requirement
For a complete installation, SIMOTION SCOUT V5.4 SP1 requires approx. 9 GB of memory space on your hard disk. You should reserve at least another 200 MB for your projects.
An important requirement for the installation is that there is at least 3 GB of temporary memory available on drive C:\. This is also required when the installation is to be performed on a drive other than C:\.
Software requirements
The software requirements for SIMOTION SCOUT V5.4 SP1 are:
- Windows 10 Pro/Enterprise (64-bit)
- SIMATIC STEP7 V5.7
You must have administration rights to install SIMOTION software packages.
The installation on an operating system that does not use the western character set is possible only with an operating system in the MUI (Multilanguage User Interface) version.
