"F1 2020 - Official Game" เป็นเกมแข่งรถที่เปิดโอกาสให้ผู้เล่นได้นั่งหลังพวงมาลัยรถแข่งสุดเท่ที่จำลองมาจากรถสูตรหนึ่งของจริง พร้อมชิงชัยในสนามแข่ง World Championship ที่มีอยู่จริงกว่า 22 สนาม รวมถึงสนามใหม่จาก กรุงฮานอย ประเทศเวียดนาม และซานด์โวร์ต ประเทศเนเธอร์แลนด์

นอกจากรถสูตรหนึ่งก็ยังมีโหมดแข่งขันด้วยรถสูตรสอง และเพิ่มความท้าทายขึ้นไปอีกขั้นด้วยโหมด My Team ให้ผู้เล่นได้คัดเลือกนักแข่งและทีมงานของตนเองในการซ่อมบำรุงรถยนต์ในระหว่างการแข่งขันให้ดำเนินไปอย่างราบรื่นและว่องไวกว่าทีมอื่น รวมไปถึงการจัดงานรายได้ต่าง ๆ ของทีมและการหาสปอนเซอร์ เหมือนผู้เล่นได้เป็นผู้จัดการทีมแข่งรถแบบสมจริง
