Yakuza 3 ภาคต่อของเกมแอคชั่นผจญภัยแนวการต่อสู้แบบนักเลงญี่ปุ่น ซึ่งเคยสร้างชื่อไว้บนเครื่อง PS2 จากแนวการเล่นที่ค่อนข้างอิสระ ให้ผู้เล่นเลือกทำอะไรก็ได้ในเกม มีอะไรต่างๆให้เลือกทำมากมาย คล้ายๆกับเกม GTA ทำให้เกมนี้ได้รับความนิยมไม่น้อย แม้ว่าเนื้อเรื่องในเกมนี้จะรุนแรงน้อยกว่า GTA อยู่มาก แต่ก็ไม่เหมาะสมกับเยาวชนอายุน้อยๆอยู่ดี เพราะสะท้อนให้เห็นถึงสังคมด้านมืดของนักเลงยากุซ่าของญี่ปุ่น
Yakuza แบบ Remastered นี้ จะเป็นการนำตัวเกม Ryu Ga Gotoku หรือ Yakuza ภาคที่ 3,4 และ 5 มาปรับปรุงภาพกราฟฟิกให้มีความคมชัดและมีรายละเอียดมากขึ้น โดยจะรันที่ 60 เฟรมในขนาด 1080p ตามสมัยนิยม ช่วยเพิ่มความเร้าใจในการเล่นมากขึ้น
