Sniper Ghost Warrior Contracts สำหรับเกมสไนในภาค Contracts นี้ จะเป็นการหวนกลับคืนสู่สไตล์การเล่นเคลียร์มิชชั่นแบบดั้งเดิมอีกครั้ง ซึ่งให้ผู้เล่นรับบท มือสังหารรับจ้างอิสระ ออกรับงานว่าจ้างสังหารเป้าหมาย ภายในแม็พแผนที่ปิดตายขนาดกว้างที่เป็นลักษณะ โอเพ่นเอนด์ (มิใช่ โอเพ่นเวิลด์ เหมือนอย่างภาคที่ผ่านมา) ด้วยคอนเซปต์ Strong Replayability เน้นให้ผู้เล่นวนกลับมาเล่นซ้ำใหม่หลายๆรอบ ในภารกิจและวิธีการที่แตกต่างออกไป
ในฐานะมือสังหารรับจ้างจากตัวเลือกที่มีอยู่มากมาย นอกจากเหยื่อที่เป็นเป้าหมายแล้ว ผู้เล่นยังต้องระมัดระวัง บรรดาคู่แข่งนักฆ่า ที่จะคอยมาปัดแข้งปัดขา ปั่นป่วนธุรกิจแย่งลูกค้า และทลายแผนลอบสังหารที่เราวางไว้ ดังนั้นเราจึงควรมีแผนสองสำรองเอาไว้อยู่เสมอ และพยายามใช้อุปกรณ์แกดเจ็ตให้เกิดประโยชน์สูงสุด ไม่ว่าจะเป็นโดรนบินสำรวจ, ระเบิดแก๊สพิษ ไปจนถึงป้อมปืนสไนบังคับจากระยะไกล ที่ถูกเพิ่มเข้ามาใหม่ในภาคนี้
ในส่วนของหน้าจอแสดงผล HUD และ UI ก็ได้รับการดีไซน์ปรับปรุงใหม่ อีกทั้งยังมี Tactical Tagging System ระบบแท็กเป้าศัตรูที่ถูกพัฒนาขึ้น ไปจนถึงระบบที่ช่วยเพิ่มความสมจริงในการซูมยิงผ่านลำกล้อง อาทิ Enhanced Scope Mode และ Dynamic Reticle System ที่ให้ผู้เล่นสามารถควบคุมกระสุนทุกนัดที่พุ่งออกไป ให้เหมาะสมตามสภาพอากาศ และวิถีตกกระทบ
นอกเหนือจากภารกิจหลัก และภารกิจรองที่มีให้ทำในโหมดแคมเปญลุยคนเดียวแล้ว ผู้เล่นยังสามารถดวลวัดฝีมือความแม่นกับผู้เล่นออนไลน์คนอื่นๆ ผ่านโหมดมัลติเพลย์เยอร์กติกาสากล Team Deathmatch ที่จะถูกบรรจุพร้อมให้เล่นกันในวันที่เกมออก
