Hardentools 2.5 Portable

Description:
With the help of the free Hardentools program, you protect your system from attacks by disabling some Windows features and applications. The more features a system offers, the greater the attack surface. The idea behind the developers is that you simply disable the features you don't need. Thus, you achieve an additional level of security with this software. It's easy to use, you just need to run the exe file and click on "Harden". But you shouldn't do it thoughtlessly.
Windows has features that some users don't need, such as Windows Script Host or Powershell. From a security point of view, it is better to disable these functions. The problem with the program is that it is too easy to use. One click is enough to disable 16 features of the Windows OS and installed programs. But what exactly is not clear at first glance.
Therefore, do not blindly choose, but ask to see an expert's opinion through the "Show Expert Settings". The tool will then show, at least briefly, what it is doing in the background. You can also deselect individual functions there, for example, if you still need Powershell or if you work with Office macros.
When you launch the free Hardentools program once, the selected functions are deactivated. If you need one of the functions again, just run the program again. You can restore all settings using the built-in restore feature.
