Interface language: Russian, English and others

System requirements:
• Windows Vista / 7 / 8 / 10 / 11 (32/64-bit)

Description:
WinContig - an easy-to-use stand-alone defragmenter program that does not create any additional folders on the computer and does not make entries in the Windows registry. Its purpose is to quickly defragment files without having to defragment the entire disk. In addition, WinContig allows you to group files in profiles, and also supports optional parameters on the command line with which you can control the behavior of the program.
WinContig is a standalone application that does not require any installation or additional DLLs.
WinContig is distributed as a free product (freeware) for both personal and commercial use.
Frequently asked questions about WinContig:
Answers to questions frequently asked by WinContig users.

Q. How safe is it to use WinContig?
A. Defragmentation and analysis are based on library functions of the interface in OS kernel mode. Thus, defragmentation is safe and does not carry the risk of data loss.

Q. Can I run WinContig from a batch file or on a schedule?
A. WinContig understands command line switches that allow you to control program behavior. This allows you to call WinContig from batch files or use the Windows Scheduler to run the program on schedule.

Q. Does WinContig use the SysInternals Contig utility when performing analysis/defragmentation?
ABOUT.In no case. WinContig is not a GUI for the Sysinternals Contig utility, nor is the Contig utility built into WinContig.

Q. WinContig is freeware. Can I use WinContig at work?
A. Of course. WinContig is free for both personal and commercial use.

Q. What is the difference between quick (Quick) and effective (Smart) defragmentation?
ABOUT.WinContig supports two different defrag methods. When choosing the fast method, WinContig looks for the first available free area on the disk that is large enough to defragment the file and uses it. This defragmentation method is suitable for those who regularly defragment disks with a regular Windows tool. When choosing the efficient method, WinContig tries to find a free area on the disk that best matches the size of the file being defragmented. If a free area large enough to store a fully defragmented file cannot be found, WinContig attempts to reduce the number of fragments in that file.

Q. I can't select any other interface language than Italian. Why?
ABOUT.You probably broke the folder structure when extracting files from the WContig.zip archive. Check if the folder where you extracted the contents of WContig.zip has a Lang subfolder. If you don't have such a folder, create it, move all the files with the .lng extension into it, delete the WinContig.ini file (if it exists) and start WinContig.
