โดยเหตุการณ์ของเกมส์ Red Faction: Armageddon กล่าวถึงเหตุการณ์ที่ต่อเนื่องจากภาค Guerrilla ปี 2170 เมื่อดาวอังคารที่มนุษย์ไปตั้งรกรากถิ่นฐานอาศัยอยู่ นั้น เริ่มจะอยู่อาศัยไม่ได้อีกต่อไปเนื่องจากผลของสงคราม ส่งผลให้ สภาพอากาศที่เลวร้ายและเป็นภัยต่อมนุษย์ ส่งผลให้มนุษย์ต้องไปอยู่อาศัยตามอุโมงค์ ถ้ำ และ เหมืองใต้ดิน แต่ความเลวร้ายยังไม่จบเพียงแค่นั้นเนื่องมาจากภายใต ้พื้นดินที่มนุษย์เริ่ม เข้าไปอาศัยอยู่นั้นเป็นที่อยู่ของเหล่าอมนุษย์ที่ดุ ร้ายและ เป็นภัยคุกคามต่อมนุษย์ แต่เพื่อความอยู่รอด เราจะต้องต่อสู้กับพวกอมนุษย์ เพื่อช่วยเหลือผู้คนให้มีชีวิตรอดปลอดภัยเพื่อกลับขึ ้นไปใช้ชีวิตอันสงบสุข บนพื้นดินในอนาคตอีกครั้ง
