One day , a father of a very wealthy family
วันหนึ่ง พ่อผู้มาจากตระกูลร่ำรวย


took his son on a trip to a country
พาลูกชายของเค้าเดินทางไปชนบท


with the firm purpose of showing his son
ด้วยจุดประสงค์เพื่อหวังให้ลูกของเค้าได้เห็นว่า


" how poor people live.
คนจนอยู่อย่างไร


They spent a couple of days and nights
พวกเขาใช้เวลา 2 วัน 2 คืน


on the farm of what would be considered a very poor family.
อาศัยอยู่ในไร่ของครอบครัวที่ยากจนมาก


On their return from their trip ,
ระหว่างทางกลับบ้าน


the father asked his son,
พ่อถามลูกชายเค้าว่า


"How was the trip?"
“เป็นยังไงบ้าง"


"It was great, Dad!" the son replied.
“เยี่ยมมากครับ พ่อ" ลูกชายตอบ


"Did you see how poor people live?" the father asked.
“ลูกเห็นไหมว่าคนจนอยู่ยังไง" พ่อถาม


"Oh yeah," said the son.
“เห็นสิครับ” ลูกชายตอบ


"So, tell me ,what did you learn from the trip?" asked the father.
“งั้นบอกพ่อหน่อยว่า ลูกเรียนรู้อะไรจากการไปพักกับชาวไร่ครั้งนี้” พ่อพูด ( พ่อถาม )


The son answered, "I saw that we have one dog and they have four .
ลูกชายตอบ “ผมเห็นว่าเรามีหมา 1 ตัว พวกเขามี 4 ตัว


We have a pool that reaches to the middle of our garden,
เรามีสระว่ายน้ำยาวถึงกลางสวน


and they have a creek that has no end.
ส่วนพวกเขามีห้วยที่ยาวไม่รู้จบ


We have imported lanterns in our garden,
เรามีโคมไฟนำเข้าจากเมืองนอกอยู่ในสวน


and they have stars at night.
ส่วนพวกเขามีดวงดาวบนท้องฟ้ายามค่ำคืน


Our patio reaches to the front yard,
ลานบ้านเรายาวถึงสนามหน้าบ้าน



and they have the whole horizon.
พวกเขามีขอบฟ้าเป็นลานบ้าน


We have a small piece of land to live on,
เรามีที่ดินผืนเล็กๆเพื่ออยู่อาศัย



and they have fields that go beyond our sight .
พวกเขามีทุ่งหญ้ากว้างใหญ่สุดลูกหูลูกตา


We have servants who serve us, but they serve others.
เรามีคนรับใช้ ส่วนพวกเขารับใช้ผู้อื่น


We buy our food, but they grow theirs.
เราซื้ออาหาร ส่วนพวกเขาปลูกอาหาร


We have walls around our property to protect us,
เรามีกำแพงล้อมบ้านค่อยปกป้องเรา



they have friend to protect them.
ส่วนพวกเขามีเพื่อนคอยปกป้องพวกเขา"


The boy's father was speechless.
พ่อของเด็กชายพูดไม่ออก



Then his son added
แล้วลูกชายก็เสริมต่อว่า



"Thanks , Dad , For showing me how poor we are.
“ขอบคุณครับพ่อ ที่พาผมไปดูว่าเราจนแค่ไหน ”

They're still the same old man they used to be. BUT poor people didn't change.
