ที่มีข่าวมาว่านรกสมชื่อเกม เพราะถ้าหากผู้เล่นทำ Senua ตัวเอกของเกมตายบ่อยมากเกินไป มันจะสะสมและจะทำให้เป็น
การตายแบบถาวรได้ อ้างอิงจากคำกล่าวของทีมงาน by critic Mark Brown ที่ว่า “The dark rot will grow each time
you fail. If the rot reaches Senua’s head, her quest is over. And all progress will be lost.”

นั่นหมายความว่าทุกครั้งที่คุณทำ Senua ตายในเกม Hellblade Senua Sacrifice มันจะเกิดพลังความมืดสะสมในตัวของ
Senua และเมื่อสะสมไปมากๆจนพลังความมืดแพร่ไปถึงศีรษะของ Senua เธอก็จะตายอย่างถาวร และการเดินทางที่ผ่าน

ด้วยเหตุนี้ก็เลยทำให้มีผู้กล้าจากสื่อต่างๆมาลองท้าทายระบบของเกม Hellblade Senua Sacrifice นี้กันหน่อย ไม่ว่าจะเป็น
จากเว็บ PCGamesN และ NeoGAF ก็ได้ไปลองของกัน แต่พบว่าระบบตายนี้มีความซับซ้อนอยู่พอสมควร เพราะได้ทดลอง
ตายรัวๆแล้วก็ไม่ใช่ว่าจะตายถาวรจุดนั้นๆทันที แต่เมื่อตายบ่อยๆในแต่ละจุด checkpoints จะทำให้เกิดการตายถาวรที่เร็วกว่า

สรุปก็คือการตายในจุดเดิมๆบ่อยๆไม่ได้ทำให้เกิดการตายถาวรได้ แต่การตายในหลายๆจุดจะทำให้เกิดการตายถาวรได้มากกว่านั่นเอง
