XCOM 2 is the successor of XCOM: Enemy Unknown, the award-winning strategy game from the year 2012.

The earth has changed. Twenty years have passed since the leaders of the earth have offered the aliens their unconditional surrender. XCOM, the last line of defense on the planet, has been decimated and crushed. Well, in XCOM 2, the aliens reign on the earth and erect glittering cities which, in the first place, promise mankind a dazzling future, but in reality they conceal only a sinister plan, and eliminate all those who oppose the new world order.

Only those who live on the edge of the world have a small degree of freedom. And here again a force is gathering to fight for humanity. For a constant flight and with very little success, the remaining XCOM forces have to find a way to ignite a world-wide resistance and eliminate the alien threat once and for all.

XCOM ON THE RIVER: Take the command over the Avenger, a supply ship of the aliens, which was converted into the mobile headquarters of XCOM. The new nonlinear gameplay lets you decide where your action team is going, how to secure your support, and when you react to enemy counterattacks.
RECRUITERS RESISTORS: Five class classes, each with their own ability tree, including new class abilities like Momentum, let you create special soldiers for each tactic.
TACTICAL GUERRILLAKAMP: New gameplay systems offer even more tactical flexibility in combat. The state of the world affects the environment of each struggle. Cloak yourself and entice hostile patrols into ambushes. Looted enemies and find valuable equipment and artefacts. Save VIPs and fallen comrades by bringing them to the evacuation point.
A NEW FEINDGENERATION: Different enemies - from powerful alien races to ADVENT, executors of the alien regime - provide tactical challenges.
RESEARCH, DEVELOP AND IMPROVE: Configure and build spaces on the Avenger to create XCOM new possibilities on the battlefield. Research with your scientists and engineers, develop and upgrade weapons for your preferred tactics.
EVERY APPLICATION IS UNIQUE: Begin your mission around the globe, in the wilderness, right in the heart of alien-controlled major cities, and in the depths of alien facilities. There are almost endless combinations of cards, bets and goals.
CREATE YOUR OWN MODES: With the community-designed tools, you can create your own campaign, tactical gameplay, aliens, classes, and strategy game features, and share them with the Steam Workshop.
DUEL IN THE MULTIPLAYER: Combine squads of humans and aliens and fight in direct duel on randomly created cards.
