Eagles vs. Broncos snap count analysis: Corey Clement takes advantage of his playing time
Heres a breakdown of the snap counts from the Philadelphia Eagles' 51-23 victory over the Denver Broncos in Week 9.OFFENSE Jay Ajayi played 17 snaps in his Eagles debut. Decent amount for a guy who just got here earlier this week. LeGarrette Blount only played one fewer snap than the Jay Train https://www.eaglesteamfanstore.com/E...nald_Jersey-87. Corey Clement led all Eagles runners with 28 snaps. Part of that is because he got carries in garbage time, but the other part of it is that the Eagles actually like the undrafted runner and want him involved in the offense. Clement had a strong day he finished with 12 rushes for 51 yards and two touchdowns. Oh, and he had a 15-yard receiving touchdown on a screen play. Big increase in playing time for Brent Celek and Trey Burton with Ertz out, obviously. The Eagles have quality depth at tight end. Mack Hollins played a career-high 30 snaps. Torrey Smith only played one more snap than the rookie wideout. Smith caught his first pass since Oct. 12 against the Panthers. Isaac Seumalo filled in at right tackle when Lane Johnson went down with a bruised tailbone. Stefen Wisniewski, Halapoulivaati Vaitai, and Jason Kelce were the only three starters who played 100 of the snaps with 69 each. Nice game for them https://www.eaglesteamfanstore.com/E...niel_Jersey-23.Carson Wentz was pulled with 915 remaining in the fourth quarter. Nick Foles took over in his place.Chance Warmack came in at right guard for Brandon Brooks late in the game. Wendell Smallwood didnt play until late in the fourth quarter. He likely wouldve been a healthy scratch on Sunday if Ertz wasnt injured. Oddly enough, Kenjon Barner got the start at running back for the Eagles since he was out there on the first snap. But he only played one more snap after that. DEFENSE Nigel Bradham and Mychal Kendricks are taking the bulk of linebacker snaps with Jordan Hicks out. The Eagles have mixed Malcolm Jenkins in at linebacker as well. Philly has clearly tried to limit the snaps for Joe Walker and Najee Goode. Patrick Robinson played the second most snaps of any Eagles corner. He got the start on the outside opposite of Jalen Mills. Robinson is splitting some of his snaps with rookie corner Rasul Douglas.Reserve players Kamu Grugier-Hill and Dexter McDougle got to play some defensive snaps near the end of the game. Nice reward for two guys who play hard on special teams. SPECIAL TEAMSLB Nate Gerry - 21 snaps K Jake Elliott - 17 snaps LS Rick Lovato - 10 snaps P Donnie Jones - 10 snaps Gerry hasnt played on defense but hes been contributing on special teams https://www.eaglesteamfanstore.com/E...hael_Jersey-41. Elliott made his only field goal attempt a 45-yard kick. He missed one of his seven extra points. He missed two last week, so itd be nice if this stops soon.Jones only punted twice in this game. What a slacker.DID NOT PLAYThe following players were ruled inactive prior to the game Ronald Darby, Zach Ertz, Shelton Gibson, Elijah Qualls, Steven Means, Taylor Hart, Nate Sudfeld.
